Physicist / Optical Engineer

Description
- Be part of Camtek’s multidisciplinary R&D and product development teams, working on state of the art optical microscopy systems.
- Take part in conceptualizing, defining, developing and maintaining Camtek’s next generation systems and technologies, driven by deep understanding of customers’ needs and requirements.
- Perform optical simulations as part of system conception and development.
- Work in an optical lab, characterizing and testing optical systems, components, technologies and methods.
- Collaborate with various disciplines in Camtek’s R&D organization, as well as external strategic suppliers.
- Develop equipment and methods to facilitate acceptance testing and system integration of optical components and systems.
- Support Camtek’s production and customers on optics-related matters.
Requirements
- B.Sc in optical engineering / applied physics or similar engineering disciplines
- M.Sc./Ph.D in Physics or a related engineering discipline - an advantage
- Minimum two years of hands-on experience in the equipment industry (semiconductor, digital printing, medical, military, etc.)
- Background in microscopic system and / or 3D systems / Interferometry – an advantage
- Hands on experience in laboratory work – Must
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools
- Experience with Zemax / LightTools / Quadoa / SolidWorks / COMSOL and similar tools - an advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Hebrew and English
- Willingness to travel abroad on occasion for vendor / customer support or optics-related exhibitions
